BCSIR (Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research) Fellowship 2023 is now open with deadline to apply being May 18, 2023.
There are 25 fellowships on offer in total for the year, though the number may receive an increase.
BCSIR Fellowship In Details :
As per the circular, BCSIR Fellowship for the year 2023 will be distributed the following way :
- BCSIR Post Doctoral Fellowship (no. of fellowship 3; Eligible Subjects : one each for Chemistry/Applied Chemistry/Nutrition & Food Science).
- Dr. Kudrat-e-Khuda Doctoral Fellowship (No. of fellowship 7; Eligible Subjects : Chemistry 2, Applied Chemistry 1, Pharmacy 1, Environmental Science 1, Bio-chemistry/Bio-chemistry & Molecular Biology 1, Zoology 1).
- Prof Nurul Afsar Khan Post Graduate Fellowship (No. of Fellowship 8; Eligible Subjects : Applied Chemistry 1, Chemistry 3, Micro-biology 1, Pharmacy 1, Nutrition & Food Science 1 and Physics 1).
- Prof Mofiz Uddin Ahmed Memorial Fellowship (No. of fellowship 4; Eligible subjects : Chemistry 1, Applied Chemistry 1, Applied Physics 1 and Material & Metalargical Engineering 1).
- Dr. Abdullah-al Multi Sharafuddin Memorial Fellowship (No. of fellowship 3; Eligible Subjects : Chemistry 1, Nutrition & Food Science 1, Environmental Science 1).
Attention : Initially the period of fellowship is just for one (1) year. But it can get extension on yearly basis, only upon successful and satisfactory conducts of research, assessment and approval from the board. However, the overall extension of fellowship period will never be over 4 years.

BCSIR Fellowship Requirements & Benefits :
Aspiring candidates need to fulfill the following qualities to be eligible for application against preferred fellowship:
BCSIR Post Doctoral Fellowship:
- Having PhD in Science/Technology related subjects with no third class/division/grade in entire academic life. No age limit attached. And the amount of fellowship per month is TK.55,000.
Notably, for BCSIR Post Doctoral Fellowship, foreign nationals are also eligible for application. but they have to apply through any BCSIR Research Supervisor.
Dr. Kudrat-e-Khuda Doctoral Fellowship:
- Got registered for PhD in related subject. Candidates with third class/division/grade are not eligible for application. Age should not be over 40 as on March 25, 2020. The amount of fellowship per month is TK.40,000.
Prof Nurul Afsar Khan Post Graduate Fellowship:
- Having MPhil or MS in related subject with no class/division or grade in whole academic life. Age must not exceed 35 as on March 25, 2020. The amount of fellowship per month equates TK.35,000.

Papers to Attach with Application Form :
Applicants need to attach the following documents with their application form :
- Two (2) copies of attested passport size fresh color photograph.
- Attested copies of all academic certificates and mark sheets.
- Attested copies of National ID Card or Birth Registration Card.
- Bank Draft/Pay Order of Tk.300 (non-refundable) in favor of Secretary, Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research.
