What Are The Admission Requirements For BOU MA & MSS Programs?
Interested students will need to meet the following conditions, among others, to be eligible for application :
- At least two (2) first class/GPA or CGPA of minimum 2.50 out of scale 5.0 or 2.00 out of scale 4.0 in the following three exams—SSC/HSC or their equivalent and BA/BSS/B.com/BSc or equivalence.
- Students who passed the above-mentioned exam in any disciplines are eligible for application.
What Are The Subjects For MA & MSS Program Admission?
The university offers one year-long MA & MSS programs in the following subject fields :
MA Subjects : Bangla Language & Literature, History, Religion and Islamic Studies.
MSS Subjects : Political Science & Sociology.
Notably, one year-long MA & MSS Programs are under the School of Social Science, Humanities & Language.

What About the Application Fee?
The application fee is Tk.500 which applicants can pay by any of the online payment gateway/channels mentioned in the related link.
What About the BOU MA MSS Program Admission Test Method :
Bangladesh Open University MA & MSS admission test consists of 100 marks MCQ type questions. The marks distribution is as follows : 25 marks each for Bangla, English and 50 marks for General Knowledge (25 for Bangladesh Affairs & the rest for International Affairs).
The admission test pass mark is minimum 40 with 40 % marks obtaining in each segment—Bangla, English & General Knowledge.

How Many Seats Are Available For BOU MA MSS Programs?
There are 140 seats in total available for the academic year of 2023-2024. Of the figure, 60 seats are with Gazipur Study Center (BOU Main Campus) and the rest with other study centers.
When Will Selected Candidates’ List Be Out for Written Test?
The authority will publish a list of selected candidates for the written test on April 24, 2024.
