Wage Earners Welfare Board Stipend circular 2024 to provide scholarship to in-study sons/daughters of expatriates is open with application deadline January 31, 2024.
As per the circular, the authority will provide stipend in two categories –SSC or equivalence 2023 & HSC or equivalence 2022.
Eligibility for SSC 2023 Category & HSC 2022 Category :
The sons and daughters of expatriates, living or dead, who passed SSC or equivalent exams in 2023 and now in-study at eleventh or equivalent or Diploma course (first semester/year) fall into this category.
On the other hand, the children of expatriates who passed HSC or equivalent exam in 2022 and subsequently in-higher study at public university/medical college or university fall under the category & are eligible for application.
Wage Earners Welfare Board Stipend Requirements :
Interested concerned students need to meet the following academic conditions, among others, to be eligible for application for the stipend :
SSC/Equivalence 2023 Category :
Students who passed in science group and sons/daughters of expatriates, currently in-work abroad, must have GPA-5. However, those who passed in the same group but their expatriate father or mother died while working abroad have GPA 4.00.
The requirements for those from Business & Humanities group is GPA 4.75 and 4.00 respectively.
HSC/Equivalence 2022 Category :
Aspirants who passed HSC or equivalent exam from science group and sons/daughters of current expatriate have secured GPA-4.80. However, those who passed in the same group but their expatriate father or mother died while working abroad have GPA 4.00.
The educational requirements for those from Business & Humanities group is GPA 4.50 (whose expatriate parent still working abroad) and 4.00 (whose parent was expatriate but passed away while in abroad) respectively.

As mentioned above, online application has begun January 1, 2024. The deadline to apply is January 31, 2024!
Documents To Upload With Online Application :
- Copy of passport with departure clearance or Wage Earners Welfare Board Membership attached onto it in proof of parents being expatriate.
- Applicant’s one (1) copy photograph in measurement of 300 by 300 pixel.
- Applicant’s signature with 80 by 300 pixel.
- Testimonial issued from applicant’s current academic institution with mobile number of the head of the institution.
- In case of passed-away expatriate’s son/daughter, copy of NOC (Certificate issued from respective Bangladesh Mission) issued by respective Bangladesh Mission.
- Copy of applicant’s NID or Birth Registration with the measurement of 8 inch by 6 inch (height by width).
