MIST (Military Institute of Science & Technology) undergraduate admission circular for year 2023-2024 is open with application beginning December 27. Deadline to apply is January 17, 2024. Admission test will take place on February 17.
MIST Admission Requirements 2024 :
Aspirants need to meet the following conditions, among others, to be eligible for application :
- SSC or equivalent in 2021 0r 2020 in science group with GPA minimum 4.0 without fourth subject.
- HSC or equivalent in 2023 or 2022 (results out in 2023) with minimum total Grade point of 17 in four subjects combined—Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry & English.
- For admission into Department of Biomedical Engineering, aspirants must have Biology in HSC or equivalent level with minimum Grade point ‘A-minus’/GCE ‘A’ level or equivalent with at least Grade point ‘C’ or equivalence.
GCE (‘O’ & ‘A’ Level) Or Equivalent :
- GCE ‘O’ level in 2021 or 2020 with minimum ‘B’ Grade or equivalent in any five (5) subjects including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry & English.
- GCE ‘A’ level passing year in 2023 or 2022 with minimum two ‘B’ Grade or equivalence and one ‘C’ Grade or equivalence.

MIST Undergraduate Admission Process :

A list of selected candidates for the written admission test will be out on February 5 on the university website.
For the written test, the authority will prepare two separate short of prospective candidates out of all applicants. One list is for regular applicants who passed HSC in 2023 and another for second timer who passed HSC or equivalent in 2022.
MIST Undergraduate admission process consists of two units—Unit-A (Engineering & Architecture) and Unit-B (Architecture).
Architecture applicants will have to appear in both units’ exam to qualify for admission.

Application Fee :
For ‘A Unit’, the application fee is Tk.1000 while for Architecture unit, it is Tk.1200.
MIST Undergraduate Admission Test Formats :
The written admission test consists of two hundred marks (200) in total. Of the marks, 90 marks for Mathematics, 70 for Physics, 30 for Chemistry & 10 marks for English, applicable for ‘A’ Unit (Engineering & Architecture). However, those for B-Unit (Architecture) will have to take 200 marks extra test involving Drawing & Architecture related topics.
Notably, the minimum pass mark is 40 % in the written test, applicable to both A-Unit and B-Unit respectively.
Here note that, second timers will suffer deduction of five (5) marks from the marks to be obtained in the written test.

Admission Test Dates :
As mentioned above, the undergraduate program admission test will take place on February 17, 2024. For A-Unit, the exam timing is 10 to 1 pm while for B-Unit, the timing is 10 to 1 pm and 3 to 5 pm.
Special Guidelines For All Quota Applicants :
For all quota applicants, below mentioned original/attested documents (hardcopy) must be submitted to MIST Admission Office by 17 January 2024 (02:00 pm) for quota authentication/verification.
For GCE or equivalent applicants: an attested copy of the Transcript/Certificate (hardcopy) must be submitted to MIST Admission Office by 17 January 2024 (02:00 pm) for authentication /verification.
