Sylhet Customs, Excise & Vat Commissionerate opens a job circular to fill up some 71 posts with application period January 15 to February 14, 2024.
Permanent residents only from Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Sunamganj and Habiganj districts are eligible to apply for the vacant positions.
Customs, Excise & Vat Commissionerate, Sylhet Job Circular In Details :
As per the circular, the authority will recruit people in the following positions :
- Statistics Researcher (1 post) 2. Uchchaman Sahakari (11 posts) 3.Cashier (2 posts) 4. Short-hand typist cum computer Operator (1 post) 5. Draftsman-2 (1 post) 6. Driver (3 posts) 7. Guard (Sipai) (42 posts) 8. Photocopy Operator (3 posts) 9. Office Assistant (4 posts) and 10. Night Guard (3 posts).
Job Requirements :
Interested persons must meet the following conditions, among others, to be eligible for application against their preferred posts :
Statistics Researcher :
Second class (or equivalent CGPA) Master’s degree/bachelor honors or equivalent degree in Statistics/Mathematics/Economics.
Uchchaman Sahakari :
Second class (or equivalent CGPA) Bachelor or equivalent degree obtained from any recognized university with computer operation skills. Besides, they must have typing speed of 25 words in Bengali and 30 words in English per minute.
Cashier :
Bachelor or equivalent-level pass under any known university. However, those with bachelor degree in Business Group will receive preference in landing the job.

Age Requirements :
For all general candidates and those under tribal quota, the required age range is in between 18 to 30 years. However, for those related to freedom fighters or martyred freedom fighters, it is in between 18 to 32 years. In support of age, no affidavit is acceptable.

Application Period :
As mentioned above, online application process begins at 9 am January 15. The last date and time to apply is 3 pm February 14, 2024.
Application Fee :
The application fee varies from post to post with the fee for post under serial number 1 being Tk. 335 including service charge.
On the other hand, for the posts under serial no. 2 to 6, the fee is Tk.223 while for posts under serial no. 7 to 10, it is Tk.112.
Applicants must pay the fee by SMS through any Teletalk prepaid mobile number within 72 hours of application submission.
Documents To Submit During Viva Exam :
Successful candidates out of written test will have to submit the following documents, among others, during the viva-voce :
- Attested copies of all academic certificates along with experience certificate where necessary.
- Nationality Certificate issued from respective Union Parishad Chairman/Municipality Mayor/Councilor.
- Character Certificate issued from ward councilor/first class gazette officer of respective Union Parishad Chairman/Municipality Mayor/Councilor/City Corporation.
- Attested copies of driving license where necessary.
- Attested photocopies of NID/Birth Certificate.
- Applicant’s copy of filled-up online application form.
