Dhaka University Admission 2021 : Test Rescheduled, Now To Start July 31

First year honors admission test for academic year 2020-2021 at University of Dhaka (DU) has been rescheduled with test now beginning on July 31 with ‘Cha’ unit, says a press release of the university authority on April 29.


The rescheduling of DU admission test has been made given the covid-19 related situation in the country. It came at a virtual meeting of admission committee chaired by VC Prof Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman.


According to the revised schedule, ‘Ka’ unit test will be held on August 6, ‘Kha’ unit on August 7, ‘Ga’ unit August 13, ‘Gha’ unit on August 14. And the test for ‘Cha’ unit (General Knowledge) will take place on July 31. But the date for ‘Cha’ unit (Drawing) has not fixed yet which will be intimated in due time.


All other instructions regarding first year admission process of the University of Dhaka has remained unchanged, added the press release.

As per the original schedule, admission test for ‘Ka’ unit (Science Faculty) was expected to be held on May 21, ‘kha’ unit (Arts Faculty) on May 22, ‘Ga’ unit (Business Faculty) May 27, ‘Gha’ unit (Social Science Faculty) May 28, ‘Cha’ unit (General Knowledge) on June 5 and Cha unit (drawing) on June 19. ‘Cha’ unit is for Fine Arts Faculty.

Admit Card Download : Applicants will be able to download their admit cards from 3:00 pm July 10 up to 30 minutes before the start of any unit admission test by log-in into the admission website (https://admission.eis.du.ac.bd).

Test Format : Each unit admission test will have 100 marks in total. Of the figure, 60 will be MCQ and the rest written. This is true for all the units except Cha Unit (Fine Arts Faculty). For Cha Unit, that is totally opposite meaning 60 marks for written part (drawing) and 40 for MCQ (General Knowledge).

For Ka, Kha, Ga and Gha Units’ exams, candidates will have 45 minutes each for MCQ and Written parts. But for Cha unit, the time distribution is 30 minutes for MCQ (General Knowledge and 60 minutes for written (Drawing).

It should be noted that due to the new coronavirus pandemic, each unit admission test will be held in all eight divisional cities including Dhaka—Dhaka, Rajshahi, Barishal, Chattogram, Sylhet, Rangpur, Khulna and Mymensingh—across the country.


Test Timing : As per the admission circular, all unit test will start from 11 a.m. in the morning and continue till 12:30 noon. But Cha Unit (General Knowledge) test will take place from 11 a.m. to 11 :30 a.m. and Cha Unit (Drawing), from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Attention : It should be noted that mobile phones, calculator, all types of electronic devices including electronic wrist watch and pen are banned to be carried by examinees into exam centers.

Admission Test Schedule In Brief : DU admission tests will be held as per the following reschedule :


Ka-Unit (Science Faculty) : August 6, 2021.
Kha-Unit (Arts Faculty ) : August 7, 2021.
Ga-Unit (Business Faculty) : August 13, 2021.
Gha-Unit (Social Science Faculty) : August 14, 2021.
Cha-Unit (Fine Arts Faculty, General Knowledge) : July 31, 2021.
Cha- Unit (Fine Arts Faculty, Drawing) : Not Fixed.

Dhaka University authority on March 5 this year published first year honors admission circular for academic year 2020-2021. As per the circular, admission seekers got allowed to make applications for their preferred units from 4 p.m. March 8 till 11:59 p.m. March 31.

Application Requirements : Aspirants had to meet the following requirements to be eligible for application :

For Ka Unit, SSC & HSC GPA combined must be min 8.50 (including optional subject) with GPA min 3.5 in each exam;

For Kha Unit it is min 8.00 (including optional subject) with GPA min 3.00 in each; For Ga Unit, it is min 8.00 (including optional subject) with GPA min 3.50 in each;

For Gha unit it is min 8.00 for Humanities students (including optional subject) with GPA min 3.00 each, for science students, it is min 8.50 with min 3.5 each and for Cha Unit, SSC and HSC combined GPA requirement is min 7.00 with min 3.00 in each exam.
