The number of novel coronavirus cases in the US has now crossed 2 million mark. According to figures from Johns Hopkins University, there are now at least 2,023,385 cases of coronavirus across all 50 states, the District of Columbia and other US territories. In terms of both cases and deaths, the USA tops all other countries affected by the virus. The virus has claimed lives of at least 113,818 people people till June 12.
According to a tally of the university, The United States reported 22,921 new cases and 894 deaths on June 11. Of all the states, New York has the highest number of cases of any state at 378,097 and the most deaths, at 30,374.
Internally the virus has infected more than 7.5 million people including at least 421,000 fatalities. Coronavirus cases are rising faster than ever — at a rate of more than 100,000 a day — propelled by a steep increase in case numbers in South and Latin America and the Caribbean. Source : CNN
