The inspiration behind the development of the site : Initially, it was very for people to get enough and authentic information on the virus as they were mainly dependent on the Chinese government website for that. This fact has pushed Avi Schiffmann into the thinking of creating his own tracker as the boy said, ‘when I started this website, there were less than 1,000 total cases, they were all in the Wuhan area of China, and there was a lot of misinformation spreading. So I decided it would be cool to create a website and make it a central hub of information,’ report Democracy Now.

On top of that, the site features maps and information on the virus, officially known as Covid-19, with the option of subscribing to a newsletter that gives daily updates. Source : Express Tribune, Pakistan
