BUFT Admission Spring 2024 : 30% Waiver On Admission Fees

BUFT (BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology) admission circular for Spring 2024 is open with 30% waiver on admission fees during admission fair taking place on March 11 & 12. So visit the fair to get the waiver on fees!

As per a separate circular, the two day admission fair is taking place from 9 to 4 pm at the BUFT permanent campus situated at Nishatnagar, Turag (West Side of Turag), Dhaka-1230, Bangladesh.

Brief Intro of BUFT :

BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology or BUFT is a private university in Bangladesh. It has been established in 2012 with the aim to produce technically competent human resources for the ready-made garments sector of the country.

The university aims to establish itself as a center of excellence for study, research and development and to serve the nation.”

BUFT Undergraduate Programs :

The university currently offers the following programs at undergraduate level :

1. Bachelor of Apparel Merchandizing & Management (AMM) 2. BSc in Apparel Manufacturing & Technology (AMT) 3. Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) 4. BSc in Computer Science & Engineering 5. B.A Honors in English 6. BSc in Environmental Science 7. Bachelor of Fashion Studies 8. BSc in Fashion Design & Technology 9. BSc in Industrial Engineering 10. BSc in Knitwear Engineering 11. BSc in Textile Engineering 12. BSc in Textile Engineering & Management.

BUFT Graduate Programs :

Now the university has the following programs at graduate level : 1. MBA 2. MSc in Fashion Design and 3. MSc in Textile Engineering.

Besides, BUFT runs certificate courses on Knitwear Merchandizing, Woven Merchandizing, Sweater Merchandizing and Post-Graduate Diploma in Apparel Merchandizing (1 year).

BUFT Admission Requirements :

Admission aspirants need to meet the following conditions, among others, to be eligible for application :

Undergraduate Program Requirements :

1. Minimum GPA of 2.50 (in a scale of 5.00) in both SSC and HSC/Equivalent (Science must for AMT/KE/FDT/IE/TE/TEM and any background for AMM/BBA/Eng/FS programs). Or
2. Those from English medium background must have ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level. The authority will consider only the best five subjects in ‘O’ Level & best two subjects in ‘A’ Level. Of the seven subjects, minimum 4 B’s or GPA of 4.00 and 3 C’s or GPA of 3.5. (in a scale of A = 5.0, B = 4.0, C = 3.0, D = 2.0 and E = 1.0.
3. Acceptable admission test score.
4. GED result is not acceptable.

The authority will select students for admission in the undergraduate programs based on admission test score/viva & results of HSC//A-level & SSC exams.

Graduate Program Requirements :

1. Undergraduate degree from any recognized university with GPA minimum 2.50 in a scale of 4.00). However, for admission into MSc in Textile Engineering and MSc in Fashion Design require undergraduate degrees in relevant disciplines.
2. MBA in Apparel Merchandising: candidates having an undergraduate degree in AMT/KE/FDT/TE from BUFT will get waiver of 27 credits. Candidates having an undergraduate degree with a very good CGPA from any other university will also get special credits waiver.
3. Admission test scores need to be satisfactory.

The final selection for admission in the graduate programs will be based on admission test score/viva and result of undergraduate degree.

BUFT Scholarship :

BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology offers scholarship to students, both undergraduate & graduate programs, in various ways such as financial assistance, waiver on tuition fees etc.

There are 20 to 40 percent waiver on tuition fees for B.A in English, 20 to 25 % waiver for BBA, IE, CSE & KE Programs; 10% for MBA and 20% waiver for MSc in Textile Engineering and Fashion Design.

Notably, there are 50% waiver on tuition fees for aspirants with SSC & HSC combined GPA 10. And 50% special waiver on tuition fees for admission into Environmental Science program and 10% special waiver for female students.

Besides, the university provides financial assistance in the form of waiver on tuition fees to those related to freedom fighter, financial needs, athletes etc.
