BOU (Bangladesh Open University) MPhil PhD Programs admission circular for academic year 2023-2024 is open with application deadline February 29, 2024.

BOU MPhil PhD Programs Subjects :

The university currently offers MPhil & PhD programs in the following subject fields under different schools :

School of Education : Education Science, Bangla Language & Literature Studies, English Language & Literature Studies, Social Science Studies, Mathematics & Science Studies.

School of Social Science, Humanities & Language : Bangla Language & Literature, History, Philosophy, Islamic Studies and Sociology.

Subjects Under School of Business :

Marketing Management & Services Marketing, Basic & Contemporary Issues in Management, Finance & Banking, Accounting & Information Systems, International Development Economics.

Subjects under School of Science & Technology :

Computer Science, Health Science, Biological Science & Environmental Science.

School of Agriculture & Rural Development :

Agronomy, Insectology, Irritation & Water Management, Aquaculture, Poultry Science and Agricultural Environment.

MPhil PhD Subjects Under Open School :

There are a number of subjects under this school : Botany, Horticulture, Nuclear Physics, Geography & Environment, Language & Literature, Islamic Thought, History, Heritage & Cultural Studies, Sociology, Disaster Management, Development Studies, Health Economics, Management & HRM, Accounting, Finance, Banking, Insurance, Comparative & International Education, Open & Distance Education, Blended Learning.

BOU MPhil Program Admission Requirements :

Interested persons will need to meet the following conditions, among others, to be eligible for application for MPhil program :

1. Four year-long bachelor & one year post-graduation degree/three year bachelor & one (1) year-long post-graduation/two year bachelor & two (2) year-long post-graduation. Or
2. Medical degrees such as MBBS/MD/BDS/BPT/BSc PT/Master In Nursing/BSc in OT/BSc In SLT/BSc in P&O/BHMS/BUMS/BAMS degree.
3. Second class/division with minimum 50% marks or CGPA 3.5 out of scale 5.0 or 3.0 out of scale 4.0 across academic life.
4. Minimum two (2) years of job experiences applicable to teachers/researchers/officials working for any public university/private university/Medical College/Agency/Institute/Colleges under the National University.

BOU PhD Program Admission Requirements :

Aspirants will need to meet the following conditions, among others, to be eligible for admission into PhD Programs @ Bangladesh Open University :

1. MPhil/MS/Masters Degree with four year-long bachelor degree Or Two (2) year-long bachelor degree with two (2) year-long post-graduation Or Thesis or Dissertation with four year-long bachelor and one (1) year-long post-graduation Or Thesis or Dissertation with three (3) year-long bachelor & one (1) year-long post-graduation degree, obtained from any recognized university.
2. Second class/division with minimum 50% marks or CGPA 3.5 out of scale 5.0 or 3.0 out of scale 4.0 in all exams including bachelor, masters/MPhil level.
3. Having minimum two (2) years of job experiences applicable to all including teachers/researchers/officials.
4. At least two research publications in any peer-reviewed journals. However, those with one published article along with MPhil or MS degree are eligible for application.
5. Those doing research at the same program with any university are nor eligible for application.

MPhil PhD Programs Application Process :

Interested researchers or persons will require to apply in prescribed form which they can collect from the university website (www.bou.ac.bd).

For MPhil program, the application fee is Tk.1000 while for PhD program, it is Tk.2,000 which applicants have to deposit with any branch of Janata Bank.

Along with filled-up application form, applicants will need to attach the following documents :

1. Attested photocopies of all academic certificates & mark-sheets.
2. Copy of research article, where necessary.
3. Money receipt.
4. Two sets of research proposals.
