Getting job in India is becoming tougher day by day in recent times particularly amidst the novel coronavirus pandemic, shows professional networking platform LinkedIn’s data, adding people from different sectors including recreation & travel, retail and corporate services shifting or intending to shift to other areas.
LinkedIn’s labor market data says competition for jobs in India is 30 percent higher than last year.
The data also demonstrate that hiring in the country continues to recover at a 12 percent year-on-year growth rate in August 2020.
In a statement the network said that professionals from Recreation & Travel, Retail, and Corporate Services are more likely to look for jobs outside their existing fields.
According to the statement, professionals in the area Recreation and Travel are 3.8 times more likely to make the switch, whereas those in Retail are 1.5 times more likely, and those in Corporate Services are 1.4 times more likely to look for jobs outside their present sectors.
In India, Python (Programming Language) came up as the fastest growing skill over the period of 2019-2020, followed by Machine Learning, Data Structures, Digital Marketing, and HTML 5, the statement added.
