All educational institutions excluding universities will be reopening from March 30 while SSC and equivalent exams 2021 is likely to commence in July, announces Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni.
This announcement came following an inter-ministerial meeting held on February 27 at the Secretariat, chaired by the Education Minister.
The meeting was attended by Agriculture Minister Md. Abdur Razzak, Home Minister Md. Assaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Primary and Mass Education Minister Md. Zakir Hossain among others.
All educational institutions excluding Kawmi Madrasas in Bangladesh have remained shut since March 17, 2020 due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
The current shutdown period of schools, colleges were expected to end on February 28. Prior to that, the announcement regarding reopening of educational institutions came.
Earlier on February 22 at the Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina instructed the education ministry to review the overall situation centering the pandemic as to whether educational activities could be resumed in the country.
