An all-time record number of students have made application to sit for first year MBBS Admission Test for academic session 2020-2021.
According to media reports, at least one lakh 22 thousand 761 admission aspirants (1,22,761) have applied for the test, compared to just over 72k last year.
Currently there are 37 government medical colleges in the country with 4,350 seats in total. So given that extraordinary figure of application, 28 students are going to fight for each individual seat!
According to the schedule, medical Admission Test this year is set to be held on April 2. The test comprising of 100 MCQ type questions will run from 10-11 a.m at all centers across the country under the supervision of Directorate of Health.
The reports adds that the matter contributed to the record number of application submission for medical Admission Test is high number of GPA-5 achievers this year in HSC or its equivalent exams out of the auto-pass adopted due to the pandemic.
