Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS) Awards circular for 2023-24 is now open with deadline to apply January 20, 2024.
Bangladesh Academy of Sciences Awards 2023 Category :
As per the circular, the academy will provide the following awards in Science & Technology :
BAS Gold Medal :
There are two awards, one for Physical Sciences including Engineering & Technology and another for Biological Sciences including Agriculture & Life Sciences.
This awards will be conferred in each of the following two groups :
Senior Group : applicable for scientists aged 40 or above as on November 30, 2023.
Junior Group : For scientists aged below 40 years as on November 30, 2023.
BAS-Dr. Sultan Ahmed Chowdhury Science & Technology Gold Medal :
The authority will hand this award to a distinguished scientist involved in research and development in the field of Medical & Health Sciences. There is no age limitation for this award.
BAS-Dr. M.O Ghani Memorial Gold Medal Award 2023 :
This award is for a scientist having outstanding contributions to the field of Physical, Biological, Engineering & Agricultural sciences. No bar is applicable to aspirants for this award.

BAS-National Professor Dr. M Innas Ali Memorial Gold Medal 2023 :
This honor is conferred to a distinguished researcher with outstanding achievement in any field of science & technology. There is no age limitation attached to this award also.
Special Attention :
Those who earlier received Gold Medal in any of the above-mentioned categories are not eligible for application or nomination. Besides, one can apply for only one of the above 1 to 2 categories.

BAS Awards Application Process :
Interested candidates or nominees will have to submit seven (7) copies of their bio-data, list of publications & Patents and photocopy of first page of each of all important publications along with their soft copy.
All application or nomination must reach the Secretary of the Academy by January 20, 2024.
