Do you know who is the oldest living person in the world right now? A Japanese woman called Kane Tanaka has been officially recognized as the oldest living person by the Guinness World Records. Tanaka aged 116, now lives at a nursing house in Japan’s south-west region Fukuoka. Guinness has accepted her as the oldest living person at a program at the nursing house on March 9.
Tanaka was born on 2 January 1903, being the seventh of her parents’ eight children. She married Hideo Tanaka in 1922. This couple has five children, one of them adopted.
This Japanese woman usually gets up by 6 am. She enjoys studying mathematics and loves playing the board game Othello.
Japanese people usually have long life and dominate the oldest-person list. True to that, the previous oldest living person was also from Japan. That woman called Chiyo Miyako died in July last year at the age of 117.
It needs to note that according to Guinness, French woman Jeanne Louise Calment is recorded as the oldest person ever. She died at the age 122 a few years back. In addition to that, as per Guinness, the world’s oldest man was Masazo Nonaka. This Japanese died in January this year at 113.
