Tuition Fees & Requirements : Tuition fees for Undergraduate level courses stand between 12,450 to 13,450 Pound per year depending on the lab facility and the program lasts from 3 to 4 years. The minimum academic requirement at undergraduate level is CGPA 3.5 at both HSC & SSC and the IELTS score (UKVI) at least 6.0 but not less than 5.5 in any of the four bands or modules. Those who fail to meet this academic and language requirements must attend Foundation level course before joining chosen undergraduate or postgraduate level course.
Postgraduate Level Study : Quite like undergraduate programs, a host of programs are on offer at postgraduate level as well. Of them are Biomedical Science, Carbon Resource Management, DNA Profiling, Database System, IT Security etc in Science branch, and Community Leadership, Fashion Design, Intercultural Business Communication, International Journalism, Photography among others in Arts Discipline. The average tuition fee at postgraduate level is between 12,950 to 13,950 Pound. The academic requirement is minimum 2.5 at Bachelor level and IELTS score is 6.5 but no less than 6.0 in any band. Here to note that postgraduate level study lasts just one year.
Sponsor Requirements : Only first blood persons like parents, paternal uncle or aunt (those from the father’s line) can be the sponsor. In certain cases, uncles or aunts from the mother’s line could be accepted as sponsors. With regard to bank deposits, prospective students must make in advance a deposit of 50 percent of one year tuition fee plus about 8000 Pound as one year living costs including accommodation which stand some 18-20 lakhs in total.
Scholarship : UClan offers scholarship at both undergraduate & postgraduate level which is provided as ‘Vice Chancellor Award’ and the scholarship amount is 1500 Pound. To avail the scholarship at undergraduate level, Bangladeshi students must have CGPA 5.0 from both SSC & HSC Exams and minimum 6.0 UKVI IELTS score. At postgraduate level, the academic requirement for the scholarship is minimum CGPA 2.5 from bachelor level and IELTS score 6.5 to the least but not less than 6.0 in any band. But for prospective students in engineering and medicine programs, the academic requirement must be minimum CGPA 3 out of 4 in bachelor level and IELTS score minimum 7.5 to be eligible for the scholarship.
Part-Time Work Scope : As an international student, one can work part-time up to 20 hours per week and thereby earn up to around 120 pound. The earnings from part-time work can help a bit fund students’ studies. Besides, experiences gained from part-time work help ad extra values to one’s resume.
