The death toll from the novel coronavirus in the USA has crossed 98k as the country has recorded at least 693 more deaths and 18,611 new cases on May 26. As per Johns Hopkins University, the US has now at least 1,680,913 Covid-19 infections and 98,913 fatalities linked to the virus.
The new fatalities is up from the previous day at 633 but cases is down from that of the earlier period at 20,634.

The totals includes cases from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and other US territories, as well as repatriated cases.
Of 50 USA states, New York is the worst hit by the virus as the state alone has 362,764 cases and 29,229 deaths. New Jersey, Illinois and California follow.
Internationally the Covid-19 disease has infected more than 5.5 million people and at least 350k deaths. Source : CNN
