In the USA, the death toll from the novel coronavirus has well crossed the mark of 145k as the country has recorded 52,314 new cases and 759 reported deaths in the last 24 hours till July 24 at 5 p.m local time, reports Johns Hopkins University.
To date, there have been at least 4,091,062 confirmed cases of infections in the US. The country’s death toll currently stands at 145,063 since the first case in the country was logged on January 21, according to the university.
On the other hand, at least 284,196 new Covid-19 cases were reported to the World Health Organization in the last 24 hours, according to a WHO situation report published on July 24.
Countries where highest daily hike were reported are the US, Brazil, India and South Africa. Of the countries, India, a South Asian country, recorded 48,916 new cases in the last 24 hours till July 22 morning, says the country’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The total number of infections in the country now stands at 13,36,861, the third-highest in the world, and at least 31,358 deaths.
Globally the total number of infection from the virus has reached the negative mark of 15.7 million with at least 640k deaths. Source : CNN, BBC
