UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) in Bangladesh opens a job circular seeking applications from qualified persons to fill up some positions. Deadline to apply is 17 hours (5 p.m.) this July 8, 2024.

As per the circular, the organization will recruit professional in the following positions : 

1. National Post : Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) Technical Officer, SB4, Directorate General of Family Planning Office, Dhaka.
2. National Post : Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) Technical Officer, SB4, Deputy Director Family Planning (DDFP Office, Cox’s Bazar.
3. National Post : GBV Program Officer, SB4, UNFPA Bangladesh Sub Office, Cox’s Bazar.
4. National Post : GBV Program Officer, SB4, UNFPA Bangladesh Country Office, Dhaka.

UNFPA Job Requirements : 

Interested persons need to meet the following conditions, among others, to be eligible for application against their preferred position :

For GBV Program Officer, SB4, UNFPA Bangladesh Country Office Post :  Having Master’s degree in Social sciences/Women and Gender studies/Development studies/ Law or related subject.

Knowledge and Experience :  1. Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the field of development and population activities, with experience in programme/project management (program and budget management), preferably related to Gender/GBV case management.

2. Proven relevant experience in developing training curriculums, modules   and   materials on GBV case management/ GBV prevention/ life skill/women empowerment.

3. Preferred relevant experience on social mobilization tools such as SASA or related other GBV primary prevention tools.

4. Working experience at Cox’s Bazar will be added value.

5. Familiarity with SOPs, guidelines, tools, international GBV best practices and guidelines for GBViE response and prevention interventions.

6. Sound knowledge on the women and adolescent girls’ situation in Bangladesh.

7. Proven experience in survivors-centered approach.

8. Experience in coordination and liaison with government counterparts, UN/ Bi-lateral agencies and other stakeholders, including NGOs and communities;

9. Demonstrated track record in the preparation and analysis of documents

10. Experience in preparing progress report, monitoring report and donor report etc.

11. Familiarity with ethical standards and values of the UN system and work experience with any UN agency will be an asset.

12. Excellent written and verbal communications skills in both English and Bangla.

Languages : Having Fluency in English is required.  Working knowledge on another UN language will be treated as an asset.

For Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) Technical Officer, SB4, Deputy Director Family Planning (DDFP) Office, Cox’s Bazar Post :

Education : Having Master’s degree in public health/medicine, family health, health research, global/international health, health policy and management, biostatics, socio-medical, epidemiology or other health related sciences.

Knowledge and Experience :

1. More than 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in development sector with practical experience in providing capacity development and policy advisory support services, particularly in the field of reproductive health.
2. Clear understating about the existing health strategies and strong technical knowledge of current developments on reproductive health.
3. Demonstrated/proven experience in coordination and liaison with government officials and other stakeholders, including NGOs and communities.
4. Maturity and confidence in dealing/engaging with senior and high ranking officials/representatives of national and international institutions, government and non-government.
5. Strong expertise in capacity development, institutional/organizational development, knowledge management, adult learning, policy advisory support and advocacy.
6. Solid knowledge and understanding of the development challenges and underlying socio-cultural factors in Bangladesh, particularly in the areas of reproductive health and family planning.
7. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, networking, and negotiation skills.
8. Ability to express clearly and concisely ideas and concepts in written and oral forms.
9. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS word, Excel, etc), experience in handling of web based management systems.

Languages : Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of another UN language will be treated as an asset.
