The government has finally decided to hold SSC & HSC or their equivalent exams 2021 but with curtailed syllabus and subjects. The exams will now be held on three group-based subjects each.
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka has said in a circular signed by the board’s Exam Controller Professor SM Amirul Islam and issued on July 26.
The authority has taken the decision to hold the exams in curtailed manner due to the covid-19 situation, both home and abroad.
According to the circular, the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or its equivalent and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or its equivalent examinations will be taken with short syllabus of only three group-wise subjects each. The marks and duration of the examination of each subject will also be shortened. It also adds that there will be no exams on compulsory and optional subjects, which is applicable to both level of examinations.
The circular also states that candidates will get marks for compulsory and optional subjects through subject mapping based on JSC or equivalent and SSC or its equivalent exam results and suggestions from expert panels.
As per the notification, marks of fourth (optional) subject’s will be added to the results of SSC and HSC or their equivalent exams by subject mapping. As a result, they will face no obstacles when it comes to admission into higher educational institutions through admission test. The fourth subject of any candidate will be considered as per their registration card.
There is no scope to change fourth subject of any students right at this moment, added the circular.
