India’s Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, popularly known as BIG B, has been discharged from Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai on August 2 after tested negative for Covid-19. His recovery comes just after 1 month of being infected by the novel coronavirus.
His actor Son Abhishek Bachchan took to his Twitter handle and informed the fans of the discharge though the actor self continues to remain at the hospital as being positive for the virus again.
Announcing his father’s release, Abhishek wrote in the tweet, ‘my father, thankfully, has tested negative on his latest Covid-19 test and has been discharged from the hospital. He will now be at home and rest. Thank you all for all your prayers and wishes for him.’
He further informed that he continues to remain at the hospital as he tested positive. ‘’I, Unfortunately due to some comorbidities remain Covid-19 positive and remain in hospital. Again, thank you all for your continued wishes and prayers for my family. Very humbled and indebted.’

Big B too wrote in a post on his twitter handle declaring his discharge from hospital. In the tweet, he wrote, ‘I have tested Covid negative, have been discharged. I am back home in solitary quarantine.’
Earlier on July 27, Bollywood actor and former Miss World & Bachchan family daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter Aaradhya had been discharged from the hospital in Mumbai after being tested negative for the novel coronavirus.
Amitabh along with his son, Abhishek Bachchan, tested positive for coronavirus on July 1 while his daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and granddaughter Aaradhya (9) tested positive the next day. Source : CNN, TOI
