An Indian university student named Hemangay, not his real name, has been cut off from his boyfriend for about a week after the country went into lockdown for 21 days on March 24 over the deadly novel coronavirus.
The 19-year-old, a student at the University of Delhi, lives with his family in New Delhi, the capital of India. For the past few months, he’s been secretly dating his 22-year-old `boyfriend.’

As the country of 1.3 billion people is in lockdown now, so no one is allowed outside plus public transport is shut. Therefore Hemangay also is not able to make it to his boyfriend’s house on the other side of Delhi anyway.
And because Hemangay can’t take walks, he hasn’t been able to phone his boyfriend — he’s too worried his parents would find out about their relationship if he calls him from the family home as he said, ‘I have never felt so helpless in my entire life’.
