Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of multinational technology company Amazon, has become the world’s richest person again, removing Elon Musk (49) from the top spot in the latest Bloomberg Billionaires Index, reports CNN.
Bezos (57), a Princeton University graduate, has reclaimed his title of the wealthiest billionaire in the world in just six weeks after having lost it to Elon Musk, CEO and founder of American giant electric-vehicle company Tesla Inc.
According to the index, Bezos now has an estimated wealth worth $191 billion compared to Musk’s $190 billion.
Elon Musk’s fall from the top spot of billionaires in just six weeks is mainly because of Tesla’s share price fall. On February 16 alone, Elon lost about $4.5 billion out of Tesla’s share value fall.
Jeff Bezos also lost his fortunes due to Amazon’s share price decline but the reduction in his wealth was just about $372. So that was enough to recapture his title he held for about three years before losing it to Musk for just one and a half months.
On the other hand, Bill Gates retains the world’s third-richest person status with $137 billion worth of wealth.
