IUT Admission Circular 2024 : Application Period Jan 22 to Feb 5

IUT (Islamic University of Technology) admission circular for academic year 2023-2024 is open with online application process beginning from January 22. The last date to apply is February 5, 2024.

Brief Intro of IUT :

Islamic University of Technology (IUT) is an educational and research institution in Bangladesh run & funded by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The main objective of IUT is to contribute in developing the human resources of the member states of the OIC, particularly in the fields of engineering, technology and technical education. IUT receives direct endowment from OIC member countries and offers scholarships to its students in the form of free tuition, boarding, lodging and medicare. Turkish architect Pamir Mehmet, who is an MIT graduate, designed the aesthetic campus of IUT.

IUT Admission Requirements 2024 :

Interested students need to meet the following conditions, among others, to be eligible for application :

Common Requirements for BSc Engineering & BBA Program :

1. HSC or Equivalent exam passing year in 2023 or 2022.
2. SSC or Equivalent exam in 2020 or later.

SSC/HSC and O & A-Levels : 

1. GPA minimum 4.5 in both SSC & HSC or equivalent exams. ‘A+’ in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and minimum ‘A’ in English in HSC.

2. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & English with minimum ‘B’ Grade at O-Level.

1. Having minimum ‘A’ Grade in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at ‘A’ Level.

If the transcript provides both grade and marks, then the grades will be considered and marks will be ignored. If the transcript shows only marks, only then marks will be converted into grades according to the following (applicable for both O/A level or equivalent) : 80-100 Marks (A/A* Grade, Grade Point 5.00), 70-79 Marks (B Grade, Grade Point 4.00 and 60-69 Marks (C Grade, Grade Point 3.50).

The university currently offers the following BSc Engineering and BBA programs :

3. BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
4. BSc in Computer Science and Engineering.
5. BSc in Software Engineering.
6. BSc in Civil Engineering.
7. BBA in Technology Management.

IUT Post-Graduate Programs :

IUT currently runs the following post-graduate programs in engineering :

MSc/MEng/PhD in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical & Electronic Engineering/ Computer Science & Engineering/ Computer Science & Application and Civil Engineering.

The university also offers the following degrees in Technical Education at undergraduate and post-graduate levels : BScTE (3 years), PDGTE, MScTE, PhD.

Can Hindu Students Apply for Admission In IUT?

No, Hindu students are not eligible to apply for enrollment into any programs of Islamic University of Technology. That means only Muslim applicants of OIC member countries can apply for admission in the university.

Is IUT Private or Government?

Established in 1978, IUT is a private higher education institution which is a subsidiary organ of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The university receives endowment from OIC member states and offers scholarships to some students in the form of tuition waiver and free accommodation.

IUT Exam Date 2024 :

For BSc Engineering and BBA Programs, admission test for the academic year is scheduled to be held on March 22 at 10.30 am. For other programs like Post-Graduate programs in Engineering and Undergraduate & Post-Graduate Programs in Technical Education, there will be no admission test but the authority will notify only short-listed candidates followed by other selection process.
