IML (Institute of Modern Languages) DU regular MA in TESOL, Chinese Language & Culture, Japanese Language & Culture and French Language & Culture programs admission for academic year 2022-23 is open with application deadline January 31, 2024.

Which Languages IML DU Offers :
The institute offers the one-year-long certificate course in the following subjects :
Arabic, English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Persian, Russian, Spanish, Korean, Turkish, Hindi, Malay and Bengali (only for foreigners).
Notably, for all languages except English, the course is known as Elementary Certificate course. For English, it is known as Pre-Intermediate and Intermediate Certificate Course.
IML DU MA TESOL, CLC, JLC Admission Requirements :
Aspirants will need to fulfill the following requirements, among others, to be eligible for admission into regular MA Programs :
- Four year-long Bachelor (honors) degree in any discipline.
- No age bar for application, applicable to all programs.
For details, one needs to visit the Office of Admission, IML, University of Dhaka on every working day from 10 am to 5 pm. Notably, aspirants will require to apply in prescribed Form which they can collect from the Office of Admission, IML by the deadline.
IML Elementary Course Admission Requirements :
Interested persons need to meet the following conditions to be eligible for application :
- HSC or equivalent exam pass with minimum second class/B-grade or GPA 2.50.
- English course is just for regular students of Dhaka University.
IML DU Application Process :
Interested students can apply both online and offline. For online application, they need to visit the following website :
Or they can collect application form from Janata Bank, TSC, DU branch on payment of Tk. 500/700.
For current regular students of the university, it is Tk.500 while for others, it is Tk.700.
Documents To Attach with Application Form :
For current students of the university, applicants must have signature of their respective department’s Chairman or institute’s Director on the form. They do not need to submit any other documents with their application form.
However, if applicants are ex-students of DU and outsiders, they must attach attested copies of their SSC and HSC or equivalent exams’ certificates with application form.
