GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering) 2021 schedule has been released by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay on its official website.
As per the schedule, the exam will commence on February 5 and end on February 14. To see the schedule, candidates need to visit the link at https://gate.iitb.ac.in/eschedule21.php
Two new subjects —Environmental Science & Engineering (ES) and Humanities & Social Sciences (XH) have been included to the GATE examination 2021. So the total number of subjects have increased to 27.
It should be noted that test in CE, CS and ME will be conducted in two sessions.
Besides, authorities have for the first time decided to allow the candidates to appear for more than one paper due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Following the written test, the results will likely be announced online on March 22 next year. GATE-2021 score card will remain valid for three years from the date of announcement of results.
GATE is a national examination conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and IIT Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.
Qualifying in GATE is a mandatory requirement for seeking admission and/or financial assistance to Master’s programs & direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Arts and Science, in the institutions supported by the MoE and other Government agencies.
