Facebook might be introducing a new feature only for college or university students, marking a possible return to its root as a social media platform for students. App researcher Jane Manchun Wong discovered the feature analyzing references in Facebook’s code. But it’s not clear when the feature will be released for use.
The feature called ‘Campus’ would only be accessible to college students. To avail it, they would need an email address which ends in ‘.edu.’
Once signed up, users can be able to create a profile with all their relevant information like major/minor subject, graduation year, and even dormitories they’re staying in to help find friends. In addition, Campus would have separate spaces for students where they can share their own groups, events and others.
