Dhaka University Admission Test 2021 : To Start From May 21

The first year honors student admission process for the academic session 2020-2021 at Dhaka University (DU) is getting underway from March 8 as candidates will be able to apply for their respective units from 4 p.m. on the day. The admission test will start from May 21 with Ka unit (science faculty) exam. 

The schedule has been finalized at a meeting of general admission committee of the university, held on February 18 chaired by VC Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman.

According to a press release issued following the meeting, application submission will continue till 11: 59 p.m. March 31. 

As per the final decision of the committee, admission test of kha unit (Humanities Faculty) will be held on May 22, followed by Ga unit (Business Faculty) May 27, Gha unit (Social Science Faculty) May 28 and Cha unit (Fine Arts Faculty) on June 5. 

Every unit test excluding Cha Unit will take place from 11 a.m. to 12 :30 p.m. on the dates, reads the statement. For Cha Unit, the timing is from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. 

Application Requirements : Aspirants must meet the following requirements to be eligible for application :  For Ka Unit, SSC & HSC GPA combined must be min 8.50 with GPA min 3.5 in each exam; for Kha Unit it is min 8.00 with GPA min 3.00 in each; for Ga Unit, it is min 8.00 with GPA min 3.50 in each; for Gha unit it is min 8.00 for Humanities students with GPA min 3.00 each, for science students, it is min 8.50 with min 3.5 each and for Cha Unit, SSC and HSC combined GPA requirement is min 7.00 with min 3.00 in each exam.

Test Format : Each unit admission test will have 100 marks in total. Of the figure, 60 will be MCQ and the rest written. This is true for all the units except Cha Unit (Fine Arts Faculty). For Cha Unit, that is totally opposite meaning 60 marks for written part and 40 for MCQ.

For Ka, Kha, Ga and Gha Units’ exams, candidates will have 45 minutes each for MCQ and Written parts. But for Cha unit, the time distribution is 30 minutes for MCQ and 45 minutes for written.

It should be noted that admission tests will be held at at least eight public universities spreading in eight divisional cities including Dhaka across the country.
