The line of fatalities from the covid-19 is getting longer as the total toll from the disease has already crossed 800k globally.
According to an AFP tally, there are now 801,447 fatalities in total out of 23,003,079 declared infections. Over 14.5 million patients have recovered from the illness so far since the pandemic was declared on March 11.
Latin America and the Caribbean is the region the most affected with 254,897 deaths.
More than half of global fatalities have been reported in the four countries: the United States with 176,070, Brazil 114,250 , Mexico 60,254 and India with 56,706 .
The UK is at fifth position in terms of highest deaths with 41,423 fatalities to the latest.
Not surprising that the United States has the highest figures. The country logged at least 5,622,540 infections including 176,070 deaths as of August 22 local time, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
The country recorded 48,693 new Covid-19 cases and 1,108 related deaths on the day, as per the University.

The country is now closely trailing Mexico who has 60,254 deaths as mentioned earlier.
The total number of recoveries in India has risen to 22,22,577 with recovery rate being at 74.69 percent.
