Coronavirus Deaths in USA Tops 33k, Cases over 671,000

The deadly novel coronavirus, the official name is Covid-19, has now claimed at least 33,268 lives in the USA with at least 2,257 deaths reported on April 17 alone, according to Johns Hopkins University’s tally. In the country, there are now at least 671,151 cases of the virus. On the day alone, Johns Hopkins reported 32,242 new cases across the country.

The totals include cases from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and other US territories, as well as all repatriated cases.  As per Johns Hopkins University, the 4,811 deaths on April 15 likely included probable deaths and therefore the number is likely inflated.
