The deadly novel coronavirus, officially known as Covid-19, has already claimed more lives in the USA than any other country in the world. According to Johns Hopkins University, the total number of fatalities from the virus in the country is now approaching 50k. As per the university, the figure is now at least 49,861. The country has now recorded about 868,395 cases as of April 23.
As per the university tally, the country has recorded at least 25,090 new cases and 3,071 deaths on Thursday April 23 alone.

In the USA, New York has been the epicenter of the virus as the state alone has so far now recorded at least 263,000 cases and 15,740 deaths, as per the worldometer.
Globally Covid-19 has infected more than 2.9 million people and killed at least 190,000 worldwide, according to Johns Hopkins University. Source : CNN
