BOU (Bangladesh Open University) Master of Development Studies (MDS) admission circular for July 2023 (first batch) session is now open. Online application process begins May 25 and ends on July 10, 2023.
Conducted by the Open School, MDS is a two (2) year-long master’s program. Its tutorial classes will take place on Fridays and Saturdays in a blended mode. However, semester-end exams will be held at the university main campus in Gazipur.
BOU MDS Program Admission Requirements :
Aspirants need to meet the following conditions, among others, to be eligible for application for MDS Program :
- Minimum three or four year-long bachelor degree in any discipline—-Humanities, Social Science, Science or Business Studies— from any recognized university or college.
Or two (2) year-long bachelor (pass) degree along with one master’s degree in any subject.
- Those with one third class/division or equivalent CGPA in entire academic life are also eligible for application.
- Additional qualifications such as Master’s or higher degree will add extra score to the admission test results.

Application Fee :
The fee for application is Tk.1000 which applicants need to pay by any specified payment channels mentioned in the circular.
Primary Selected List Publication :
A list of primarily selected candidates for admission test will be out on July 16, 2023.

Viva-Exam Date :
The viva test involving primarily selected candidates will take place on 21-22 July.
Final Merit List :
A list of finally selected candidates for admission into the MDS program is expected to be on July 25.
Admission Period :
Finally selected candidates will admit themselves over the period of July 28 to August 14, 2023.
Orientation Class Date :
The orientation of the newly enrolled students will take place on August 18 followed by start of the Tutorial class on August 25, 2023.
Total Admission Fee :
Total admission fee for first semester is Tk.19,100 which includes course registration fee Tk.12,000, session fee Tk.2000, Per semester exam fee Tk.4000.
