Every sincere person makes several new year resolutions. Undoubtedly the best one among them may be is reading books. But wondering which books you should read?

Well, there is a list of books recommended by the world’s third richest man Bill Gates for you to read. The books suggested by Bill Gates are the followings :

‘Educated’, written by Tara Westover : ‘Educated’ is a memoir of the author Tara Westover. She never went to school or visited a doctor until she left home at 17. Gates writes that he and his wife Melinda loved this memoir of a young woman whose thirst for learning was so strong that she ended up getting a PhD from Cambridge University.

‘Army of None’ by Paul Scharre : Another book that Gates wants us to read this year is ‘Army of None’. It’s about autonomous weapons and the future of war. Gates says that it takes a thought-provoking look at artificial intelligence (AI) in warfare.

‘Bad Blood’ by John Carreyrou : In the book, the author John Carreyrou gives an insider’s look at the rise and fall of Theranos.

’21 Lessons for the 21st Century’ by Yuval Noah Harari : This book seems to be from one of Gates favourite authors, Yuval Noah Harari. He wrote that while Sapiens and Homo Deus covered the past and future respectively, this one is all about the present.

He goes on to add that the book offers a helpful framework for processing the news and thinking about the challenges all of us face.

‘The Headspace Guide to Meditation and Mindfulness’ by Andy Puddicombe : As the name suggests, the book is on meditation. The book that starts with author Andy Puddicombe’s personal journey from a university student to a Buddhist monk, goes on to offer an interesting explanation on how to meditate. Gates wrote on the book : “If you’re thinking about trying mindfulness, this is the perfect introduction.”
