The number of deaths from the novel coronavirus in Bangladesh has risen to 1,783 with 45 more victims registered in the last 24 hours ending June 29 afternoon. Besides the country has recorded further 4,014 infections over the period, raising the total confirmed cases to 141,801. Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said at the regular online health bulletin on the coronavirus situation in the country on the day.
In Bangladesh, the first corona infection was recorded on March 8 and the first death 18th of the month.
At the briefing, DGHS said that 17,837 samples were examined at 65 labs across the country over the period to determine new case. Of them, 4,014 samples came positive for the virus, up from the earlier period. The country so far has examined 748,034 since the outbreak began in the country.
The health body also said at the bulletin that 2,053 more patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, raising the recovered to 57,780 so far now. The rate of the recovery is 40.75%.

Dhaka Division among others is the worst hit as of the new deaths, 22 are recorded in this central region. Of the rest, 10 are in Chattagram, 5 in Khulna, 3 each in Sylhet & Barishal.
Internationally the novel coronavirus has infected more than 10.1 million people including 501k deaths. Of all the countries affected by the virus, the USA is the worst hit with at least 2,549,069 and 125,803 fatalities, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
