In attending people infected with the novel coronavirus, at least 19 health workers in the UK have died so far from the virus, reveals the Health Secretary Matt Hancock. He said this while talking to BBC Breakfast program on April 11.
Matt Hancock told the program, ‘very sadly, 19 members of the NHS family have died. My heart goes out to their families.’ He added that a number of the victims were from ethnic minority backgrounds.

Expressing his sadness over the victims of ethnic minority backgrounds, Health Secretary said, ‘I’m particularly struck at the high proportion of people from minority ethnic backgrounds and people who’ve come to this country to work in the NHS who died of coronavirus. I find it really upsetting actually.’
In the UK, there are now at least 73,758 cases of infection from the virus including about 8958 deaths as of April 10 count. Source : CNN
